Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second film the Harry Potter fantasy adventure film series based on the J. K. Rowling novel series. The film is the second in the film series, and is preceded by Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and followed by Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The film is directed by Chris Columbus, produced by David Heyman and written by Steven Kloves. The main cast reprises their roles from the first film. Richard Harris put in his final performance as Dumbledore. Harris died shortly before the film's release. Joining the cast are Kenneth Branagh as Lockhart and Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy. The film took in over $88 million in its US opening weekend and has earned over $878 million worldwide.
Synopsis
Harry returns to Hogwarts after a summer with his muggle family. He is visited by house-elf, Dobby, who warns him that his return will cause terrible things to happen. Harry ignores Dobby's warning, which provse valid. He begins to hear voices in the walls, and students with muggle origins are attacked. Bloody writings appear on the walls saying "The Chamber of Secrets Has Been Opened. Enemies of the Heir, Beware." Harry and his friends try to uncover the truth before someone is mortally injured, and the school forced to shut down.
