Hanka is a fictional planet designated P8X-987 in the series Stargate SG-1. SG-7 was sent to the planet where an observatory was set up to observe a nearby black hole.

Spoiler Warning: Plot details and/or information about the ending follow. If you wish to enjoy the work first, stop reading here and return at another time.

SG-1 visited the planet to observe the singularity but on arrival discovered the entire population, including SG-7, had beeen wiped out by a plague. The only person left alive was a young girl, Cassandra. They later realized Cassandra had been implanted with a bomb by the goa'uld Nirrti in an attempt to destroy Earth's stargate. The device within Cassandra eventually disintegrated after she was moved away from the Stargate. She was adopted by Dr. Janet Fraiser and currently lives on Earth.

SG-1 returned to Hanka when Cassandra began to develop telekinetic powers that also threatened her health. They discovered Nirrti had done genetic experiments on the natives in the hopes of creating a hok'taur, an advanced human she hoped to use as her new host.
