Halloween is a 1978 horror film from director John Carpenter.
This low-budget favorite was written, directed and scored by Carpenter. While it was not his first movie, it established him as a horror auteur. Genre vet Donald Pleasance, and second-gen actor Jamie Lee Curtis (daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh) star.
The movie was successful enough to spawn seven sequels by 2002, and was remade by Rob Zombie in 2007.
