A hairy biped is roughly human in form, with shaggy fur or hair covering most or all of its body. Their most distinguishing characteristic is a reportedly habitual bipedal gait (walking on two legs).

Reports come from around the world: Bigfoot in the United States, Sasquatch in Canada, the Yeren of China, the Yeti in the Himalayas, the Yowie in Australia, and more.

Theories and reported behaviours vary. Some have concluded that at least one undiscovered species is responsible for some of the reports. Mistaken identity (such as bears) and hoaxes are also believed to play a part.
