Greg Dale Bear (August 20, 1951–) is the best-selling author of more than 30 novels of science fiction and fantasy, including Blood Music, The Forge of God, Anvil of Stars, Moving Mars, and Darwin's Radio.
He has been awarded two Hugos and five Nebulas for his fiction and has been called the "best working writer of hard science fiction" by The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Science Fiction. He serves as the advisory board chair of The Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle, Washington.
