A Ribbon Device or Hand Device is a Goa'uld technology in the series Stargate SG-1. The device channels energy through an amplification crystal and is controlled by thought. The device requires that the user have naquadah in their blood stream – which usually results from becoming host to a goa'uld symbiote – in order to operate it. The ribbon device gets its name from the way it is wrapped around the wrist. It also has caps for each finger that connect via metal tendrils to the crystal which rests in the center of the palm. It can be used to torture, stun, deflect, and kill.
