George Sanders (July 3, 1906 St. Petersburg, Russia - April 25, 1972) was an actor.

His very cultured voice seemed to drip with cynicism and even, at times, menace. This served him especially well when he provided the voice of Shere Kahn, the tiger, in Disney's The Jungle Book (1967). Mowgli might have seemed like more of a threat if he hadn't faced much more dangerous children in Village of the Damned (1960).
