Eric Arthur Blair (b (June 25, 1903 –January 21 1950) is an English author and journalist better known by the pen name George Orwell. Orwell is noted for his novels Animal Farm and Nineteen Eighty-Four. Blair was born in Motihari, Bihar, India to British parents. Blair was raised in England and died in London in 1950.
