Mohinder picks up Peter Petrelli in his cab and the two begin to talk. Peter asks him about the feeling of being "special". Mohinder doesn't quite grasp Peter's meaning but mentions some points on genetics and evolutions.

The whole city looks toward the sky at a solar eclipse.

In the cab, Peter receives a call from Simone telling him to hurry to her father's place.

After dropping off Peter, Mohinder picks up another passenger. The man seems quite ordinary but soon begins to asks personal questions. His questions refer to Mohinder's job in India suggesting he knows a lot about him. Mohinder becomes nervous and scared and abandons the cab and passenger. As she leaves, she sees a reflection of herself and screams at it, telling it to leave her alone.

Niki drops off her son at a friend's house. She explains that men, sent by Mr. Linderman invaded her house to collect on the money she borrowed from him. She also tries to explain about the strange reflection of herself but her friend doesn't understand. She promises to pick up Micah later.

Niki returns home believing the men have gone. The house has been ransacked but a device Micah made to view the solar eclipse is still intact. She looks through it with pride.

Moments later, Linderman's thugs return and grab her. They insist that she perform her webcam routine for them but she is unwilling to continue. The scene ends.

On their way home, Zach and Claire come across a train fire. She hands him the tape and tells him to start filming. She crosses the barrier and runs into a burning train car where she rescues a trapped man. The flames touch her arm burning her uniform, and a fireman helps put it out, shocked to find she is unharmed. She runs off before anyone can question her.

Claire returns home and reveals to her mother that she "walked through fire without getting burned". Her mother believes Claire is using a metaphor and compliments her for being really profound.

Later, while washing dishes, Claire drops her ring into the garbage disposal and reaches in to recover it while the machine is still running. Her hand is mangled in the process. Her mother approaches and Claire hides her hand behind her as it heals.

Claire tells her mother that she would like to find out who her real parents are. Her father returns home and is revealed to be the man from Mohinder's cab.

After work, Hiro continues to explain his abilities to Ando. Hiro believes he'll also be able to teleport by bending space time. Hir refers to an issue of the Uncanny X-Men as his source for his theories about his abilities. They enter a bar to get a drink and Ando decides to test Hiro's claims, suggesting he teleport himself into the ladies room. Hiro agrees and Ando goes to get another drink.

Hiro successfully teleports into the bathroom and is shortly thrown out of the bar. Hiro is overjoyed at the prospect of being different and special Ando wonders aloud why he would want to be different and stand out? Hiro gives up on him.

Later, Hiro is on the subway when he sees an ad for New York. He concentrates and suddenly finds himself in New York Times Square. He is excited and proclaims "Hello New York!"
