GateWorld was originally known as STARGUIDE, and was created by Darren Sumner in 1999. It is one of the Web's largest and most popular sites devoted to Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. GateWorld offers the latest Stargate news, interviews with actors and writers, background information on the Stargate franchise, reviews, and spoilers.
The site has expanded over the years to include a forum offering fans an opportunity to discuss the episodes and the show's direction, as well as news items. The forum has expanded even further to incorporate the other sci-fi interests of its fans, including Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Lost, Smallville, and Doctor Who.
The GateWorld Forum has over 19,000 members and is still growing. Cast members and producers for both series sometimes visit the site, sharing information with their fans and allowing them to ask questions.
