Gary Chalk

Gary Chalk does both acting and voice acting. He is also known as Garry Chalk.

Biography

Chalk was born in Southampton, England in 1953 and moved to Vancouver, Canada.

He has been involved with professional theatre since 1978, and has performed at The Playhouse, The Arts Club and numerous theatres in British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta. The last live stage production he did was A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, where he played Milos Gloriosous. He also performed in Henry IV and As You Like It at The Playhouse, as well as Dracula and Passion at The Arts Club.

Most of his career has been in television, punctuated by occasional film roles. Among his noteworthy roles is the recurring character of Russian Colonel Chekov in Stargate SG-1 and Cold Squad for which he won Gemini Awards in two consecutive years. He is also a veteran of over 1500 animated productions including Class of the Titans, Transformers and He-Man.

Chalk's genre television appearances include guest appearances on Eureka, The 4400, The Outer Limits, Sliders, Poltergeist: The Legacy, The Sentinel, M.A.N.T.I.S., Flash Gordon Dark Angel, The Dead Zone and Masters of Science Fiction. His genre films include The Omen, and Nick Fury: Agent of Shield.

  • Chalk has won two Gemini Awards.
  • 2000-2001 Best Supporting Actor in A Drama Series: Cold Case
  • 2001-2002 Best Supporting Actor in A Drama Series: Cold Case
