<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

From the Earth to the Moon, written in 1865 by Jules Verne originally in French. It was not translated into English until 1873. This story takes place in the United States, in the early 1900s. In the city of Baltimore, Maryland a Gun Club is started. After the "War of Rebellion," the club becomes bored with the impending peace and decides to build a rocket in which they can fly to the moon. Most of the book is spent preparing for the trip with the last few chapters actually going to the moon.
