Freejack is a 1992 sci fi thriller directed by Geoff Murphy and written by Dan Gilroy and Steven Pressfield, based on a Robert Sheckley novel. Emilio Estevez stars as Alex Furlong, a doomed race car driver who is brought to the year 2009 by a group who plans to sell his body to a terminally ill billionaire, Ian McCandless who will undertake a mind transfer into Alex' younger, healthier body. Alex tries to survive a strange future and reconnect with his fiancee, Julie, now 15 years older and an executive at the McCandless corporation.
