Frank Simmons is a fictional character on the series Stargate SG-1 portrayed by John de Lancie. Simmons was a colonel in the US Air Force before joining the NID, after being recruited by Harold Maybourne. An unscrupulous character, Simmon's actions have repeatedly endangered members of the SGC. Despite warnings from Samantha Carter, Simmons was determined to investigate an alien weapon on Velona that she believed may have led to the civilization's destruction.

Simmons also investigated General George Hammond, giving him a negative report to the Pentagon. He also questioned SG-1's loyalties, claiming their exposure to alien influence had undermined their ability to perform.

Like other members of the rogue NID, Simmons sought to gain access to alien technology and information without going through proper channels. He rescued businessman Adrian Conrad after Conrad was implanted with a Goa'uld. He held the Goa'uld captive using him to gain information. Information from the Goa'uld led Simmons and his team to hijack the new Earth space ship Prometheus. Having provided false information, Conrad attacked Simmons on board the ship but was shot and killed. However, the goa'uld took over Simmon's body. Simmons was later blown out an airlock after battling against Teal'c and Jack O'Neill.
