Françoise Yip (b. September 4, 1972) is a Canadian actress born in Vancouver to a Chinese father and French Canadian mother. Yip is skilled in a variety of athletic pursuits including wire work, martial arts, skiing, and ice skating. She also speaks French, English, and Cantonese which helped her break into the Hong Kong film industry. Her early roles include the Hong Kong films Rumble in the Bronx alongside Jackie Chan, Wan feng/On Fire, and Black Mask. Yip returned to North American film and television in 1998, making guest appearances on Millennium, Earth: Final Conflict, Wolf Lake and Seven Days. Other notable roles including recurring and guest roles on the series' Freedom, These Arms of Mine, Flatland, Jeremiah, Smallville, The Dead Zone, Andromeda and Blood Ties . She also appeared in the films Romeo Must Die, Mindstorm, Blade: Trinity, The Deal and Edison.
