Synopsis

The story centers on Charlene "Charlie" McGee, a young girl with the ability to start fires with her mind. Her abilities are the result of a government experiment in which her parents participated in their college years that altered their chromosomes and pituitary glands. Both parents developed abilities of telepathy and telekinesis but their abilities are not on par with their daughters'. The family is taken prisoner by "the shop" who attempt to force them to use their abilities for study. They attempt to escape but Charlie may never be safe from them.
