Final Destination is a 2000 horror fantasy directed by James Wong. The film is the first in a series of films dealing with the same theme. Devon Sawa stars as Alex Chance, a teenager who, prior to a class trip to France, has a horrifying vision of the plane crashing. He gets off the plane, as do several of his classmates and shortly witnesses the plane crash. He begins to notice a pattern that indicates that they should have died in the crash and now death is seeking them out, killing them one by one in their original order of death. The film won a Saturn Award for Best Horror Film as did Sawa for Best Performance by a Younger Actor. Ali Larter also won a Young Hollywood Award for her Breakthrough Performance.
