Plot

On an experimental space mission, a team of astronauts is exposed to cosmic rays that alter their bodies, granting them superhuman abilities. Though the immature and irresponsible Johnny Storm is excited and accepting of his new powers, the others are more reticent about their transformation. Ben Grimm, who is transformed into a large unrecognizable creature, is particularly disturbed and wants nothing more than to go back to the way he was. The group eventually finds themselves facing off against their mission's financial supporter, businessman Victor Von Doom who has acquired the ability to absorb energy directly into his body which is slowly turning to metal.
