Face on Mars

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

The Face on Mars was photographed by the Viking Orbiter 1 on July 25, 1976. Proponents say that it is a giant representation of a humanlike face. Other apparent structures in the Cydonia region include pyramids.

As of October 2006, new images arriving in from robots on Mars have helped NASA created a 3-D image of what the face would look like from ground level.

NASA maintains that the features are natural.

Richard C. Hoagland is one of the most prominent proponents of the idea that the features are artificial.
