The F-302 is a spacecraft in the Stargate universe. It is also known as the X-302, which is the prototype of the F-302. The ship is completely Earth-designed but based largely on Goa'uld Death Gliders and designed to operate in space and atmosphere.
History

The X-302 was unveiled in the episode "Redemption, Part 1". The use of naquadriah enabled the addition of a hyperspace generator. The naquadriah's instability resulted in a failure to generate a stable hyperspace window. Despite the problem, the ship and its hyperspace window generator proved a savior to Earth as it was able to generate a window for a short enough jump that Earth's stargate, attacked by Anubis, could be transported off the planet, where it exploded.
The F-302 undertook its first mission in "Fallen". The ship was flown by Col. Jack O'Neill in a strike against Anubis' mothership. In "Lost City, Part 2", Col. Cameron Mitchell led a squadron of F-302s against Anubis forces above Antarctica.
Design
The design for the F-302 was reverse engineered from Goa'uld Death Glider using Earth technology. During the ships development, the computer systems were contracted to private companies like Colson Aviation which designed the engine control systems. Like most small ships in the stargate universe, it has no shields and is mainly used to defend larger vessels like Prometheus and Daedalus
Engines
The X-302 prototype was equipped with compact hyperdrive engines designed to be fueled by naquadriah. The naquadadriah proved too unstable to compensate for however, and the ship is only capable of short tactical jumps.
Weapons
The F-302 is equipped with air to air missiles modified for use in space and enhanced with naquadah and a shield modulator that should help it bypass shields. The modulator has not been effective against Ori shields. The F-302 also has projectile cannons.
Other Equipment
The F-302 is equipped with inertial dampeners that reduces the effects of g forces on the body of its pilots. In the episode "Ethon, it is revealed that an exploding F-302 causes an electromagnetic pulse that results from the explosion's interfering with the artificial gravity created by the inertial dampeners.
F-302s also have clamps that allow them to attach to the hull of a ship as seen in the Stargate Atlantis episode "No Man's Land".
