Story

Lee and Dualla discuss the Galactica's mission and Lee is doubtful his father can succeed. Dualla, realizes he's given up hope for his father's survival but reassures him that at least the rest of the fleet will survive and go on.

Anders confronts Tigh about his wife's betrayal and advises him to take care of her lest someone less understanding does so. Ellen explains herself to Tigh as he consoles her with a drink. The two share a tender moment as the poison in the drink works and Tigh weeps over her dead body.

On board Colonial One, Baltar advised the Cylons to leave as their experiment has failed. Three expresses concern that human descendants will return to take vengeance on the Cylons. Explosions light up the city as Anders and his team set off several bombs, heralding the beginning of the evacuation and the battle. The colonists begin move to their agreed on evacuation points. Anders and several resistance members see to the rescue of the detainees at the detention center.

Galactica launches vipers and raptors. The raptors launch decoy drones that mimic the signature of two battlestars. The cylons are fooled and send their Base stars to investigate Galactica makes a jump into the planet's atmosphere and deploys vipers to attack ground targets.

When Galactica returns to space, it comes under attack by four base stars. Outmatched and with FTL down, Galactica appears doomed but Pegasus appears and surprises the base stars, drawing their fire and destroying one of the Cylon ships.

Conoy is forced to knock Kara unconscious to prevent her escape. He leaves to help with the fight. Kara is rescued by her husband but insists on returning for Kacey. She runs into Conoy who demands that she tells him that she loves him. She does and kisses him, using the opportunity to stab him. She retrieves Kacey and reunites with Anders.

Colonial vessels jump the moment they take off. The Cylons soon realize they have lost and decide to evacuate. Number Three stays behind to activate their contingency plan, a nuclear weapon. She offers Baltar the opportunity to join them and leaves to take care of her task.

Baltar is confronted by Gaeta who holds him at gunpoint, angry at himself for believing in Baltar and at Baltar for betraying humanity. Baltar begs Gaeta to kill him but Gaeta decides to give him a chance to redeem himself and stop Three from setting off the bomb.

The Pegasus takes heavy fire with no vipers to defend it. Galactica orders vipers recalled and Lee orders all to abandon Pegasus and he sets the ship on a collision course with a base star. Two base stars are destroyed in the explosion.

Three revists Dodona Selloi's tent but find her gone. Caprica Six and Baltar discover Maya's body and baby Hera, still alive. Three changes her mind about setting off the nuke and they leave the planet with Baltar.

On Galactica, colonists reunite. Kara is stunned when a woman recognizes Kacey as her daughter and takes her, thanking Kara for rescuing her. Adma welcomes Tigh back but he is distraught and wanders off leaving Adama to his accolades.

Tory Foster apologizes to Roslin for having lost track of Maya and Hera. She believes neither of them made it off the planet. Roslin reassures her that the situation may just be bigger than them.
