Nicole Evangeline Lilly is a Canadian actress born in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, on August 3, 1979. She is best known in the role of Kate Austen on the series Lost.
She had a religious upbringing and even taught Sunday school for several years. She also served as a foreign missionary in the Philippines and ran a world development and human rights committee at the University of British Columbia, where she studied international relations. She is fluent in French.
Career
She was discovered by the Ford modeling agency in Kelowna, British Columbia. She signed with the agency as an actress to help pay her tuition and education expenses. Her first role came in the TV series Judgment Day. She has also appeared on Smallville, Freddy vs. Jason, Tru Calling, and Kingdom Hospital.
In 2008, Lilly appears in the film Afterwards with John Malkovich and Romain Duris.
Personal Life
Lilly was previously married to Canadian hockey player Murray Hone. They divorced and she struck up a relationship with Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan.
