Ernest Thesiger (January 15, 1879 – January 14, 1961) was a prissy, emaciated-looking British stage actor who appeared in several bizarre film roles, including the cowardly Horace Femm in The Old Dark House (1932) and the memorable Dr. Septimus Pretorius toasting a new world of gods and monsters in Bride of Frankenstein (1935). His other credits include The Ghoul (1933), The Man Who Could Work Miracles (1936), They Drive by Night (1938), Don’t Take it to Heart (1944), A Place of One’s Own (1944), The Ghosts of Berkeley Square (1947), The Man in the White Suit (1951), Scrooge (aka A Christmas Carol, 1951), and Meet Mr. Lucifer (1953). An exhibited artist and accomplished crochet expert (he wrote a book on the subject), he was also apparently a skilled female impersonator. In 1960 he was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Arthur Dignam played him in Gods and Monsters (1998).

It's usually best to give a very general overview first, then specific details. When including the plot or essential details of a story in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
