Emil Theodore Petaja (b. April 12, 1915, Montana - August 17, 2000]) is an American science fiction author. Petaja studied at Montana State University. His first published work was a book of poems illustrated by Hannes Bok. He later published several novels and novellas of which the most popular is his Otava series.
