Elizabeth Banks (b. Elizabeth Maresal Mitchell February 10, 1974, Pittsfield, Massachusetts) is an American actor. Banks attended the University of Pennsylvania and followed up with the Advanced Training Program American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, graduating in 1998. She moved to Los Angeles and made her film debut in Surrender Dorothy and her genre debut in 2002's Spider-Man (2002).
Banks has appeared in several notable films including Catch Me If You Can, The 40 Year Old Virgin with Steve Carell, Slither with Nathan Fillion, Spider-Man 3, Definitely Maybe, and Fred Claus. Banks may be well remembered by comedy fans for her recurring role as Dr. Kim Briggs on the NBC series Scrubs.
In 2008, Banks completed the films Little Big Men, Meet Dave, and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. In 2009 she will appear in Lovely, Still, The Uninvited and, in 2010, The H-Man Cometh.
