Edwin Hubble

Edwin Hubble (November 20, 1889 Marshfield, Missouri - September 28, 1953) was an American astronomer.

On January 1, 1925 Hubble announced his confirmation of galaxies outside the Milky Way. He is also credited (along with Milton L. Humason) with working out the Redshift Law of Distances, which helped support the Big Bang Theory.
