Editor

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

An editor is a person who works with the artistic product of a creator (writer, director) and helps hone the finished product into a more presentable form.

Role of an editor

In an artistic sense, an editor is a critical eye used by the creative artist to allow a clearer communication of intent of the work.

In a business sense, the editor works as a intermediary between a commercial interest (publishers for books, website owners, movie studios) and the artist. In this sense, the editor is used to take original content and to make it more commercially viable to a mass audience and the profit-generating interests of the parent company.
