ETs and UFOs

ET is an acronym for extraterrestrial and refers to humanoid intelligent creatures who are not native to Earth. ETs may or may not exist but there have been many thousands of reported sightings and there are complex webs of information and speculation about their origins, how many types there are, their purpose in visiting Earth and whether they are benign or malignant.

UFO is an acronym for unidentified flying object, a formal designation applied originally by the United States Air Force to any object, either sighted by a pilot or detected by radar, that did not fit any known description of an existing aircraft.

What UFO has become over time is an umbrella designation for a wide range of related phenomena involving all sorts of events that seem to involve technology and scientific effects that can't be explained with current knowledge.
