Dystopia

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

(Redirected from Dystopian)

A dystopia is a fictional location, usually in the future, where the flaws of everyday life greatly outweigh the benefits. It is roughly defined as the opposite of a utopia. Dystopic worlds or societies are popular settings for science fiction stories and films that serve as a warning to present audiences of the bad things that may happen if technology or science are misused.

Writers Philip K. Dick and Rod Serling set many of their stories in a dystopic environment.
