Drew Goddard (b. February 26, 1975, Los Alamos, New Mexico) is an American screenwriter and producer. Goddard attended the University of Colorado. He got his start in television as a production assistant. When his writing caught the attention of Marti Noxon and David Greenwalt, Goddard landed the opportunity to write for the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Goddard wrote five episodes for the series seventh season and later wrote for Angel. In 2005, Goddard wrote and produced several episodes of the series Alias and followed up with work on yet another J. J. Abrams series, Lost.
In 2008, the film Cloverfield, produced by Abrams will mark Goddard's feature film writing debut. The film tells the story of a monster attack in New York.
