Don Messick

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Don Messick (September 7, 1926 Buffalo, New York - October 24, 1997) was an American voice artist.

 Ruh-roh!

Who doesn't know somebody who has done the Scooby-Doo ruh-roh? That signature delivery of a simple throwaway line was the work of voice artist Don Messick.

Where Scooby was all about open emotion, Messick's Dr. Benton Quest (Jonny's dad) was restrained intellectualism. Just for good measure, he also barked for Bandit on that series.

Another example of Messick voicing two very different characters in the same series is his work as Boo-Boo and Ranger Smith on Yogi Bear. Yogi was voiced by Daws Butler, and Messick and Butler would often work together.
