Demolition Man is a 1993 action comedy directed by Marco Brambilla. Sylvester Stallone stars as police officer John "Demolition Man" Spartan. Spartan is awakened in the 21st century after decades of suspended animation, punishment for his part in apprehending one of the 1990s most dangerous criminals, Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes). When Phoenix mistakenly believed to have been rehabilitated, is awakened, the police also thaw out Spartan to help stop him. The future, a non-violent society of nice peaceful individuals, is ill equipped to deal with the violence Phoenix plans to unleash.
