Deathstroke (also referred to as Deathstroke the Terminator, or just the Terminator) is a fictional super villain comic book character owned by DC Comics. He is considered an arch nemesis of the superhero team, the 1980s “New Teen Titans”. Deathstroke even had his own series called Deathstroke the Terminator beginning in 1991 which ran for 60 issues or so.

Deathstroke has enhanced physical and mental abilities, able to use 90% of his brain in battle, enhanced reflexes and a regenerative healing factor make him almost unbeatable in combat. He is a master of combat with many different weapons, from guns to a sword. His real name is Slade Wilson, who got his abilities from U.S. Army experiments which attempted to recreate him as a super-soldier. He soon became a mercenary when he defied orders to rescue his friend and mentor, a man named Wintergreen.

Deathstroke has had two sons and a daughter, each with enhanced powers. When he refused to give up information to save his son Joey, the villain slit Joey’s throat, not killing him, but rendering him mute for life. His wife Adeline, now deceased, tried to kill him in anger for allowing this to happen, but only managed to destroy his right eye. Joey Wilson later became the superhero Jericho, with the power to turn into a spirit and take possession of another person’s body.

Slades other son, Grant Wilson, tried to follow in his father’s footsteps by allowing himself to be enhanced and called himself the Ravager. He was hired by the evil organization H.I.V.E. to kill the Teen Titans. The "enhancements" eventually killed Grant, compelling Deathstroke to finish the job. Deathstroke captured the Titans using the superhuman Terra to infiltrate the Titans as his agent and betray them when they least expected. The Titans were ultimately saved by Jericho, who soon became a Teen Titan himself.

Terminator’s third child is Rose Wilson, whom he trained to become the new Ravager. Slde brainwashed and manipulated Rose to become his apprentice. Rose even cut out her left eye, to try and prove she was her father’s equal. Eventually, she was influenced by Nightwing and other circumstances to reject her father, and, as Ravager, is a member of the Teen Titans.

Deathstroke has fought many of DC’s superheroes, and particularly hates Green Arrow, who once drove an arrow into his dead eye socket.

In the Teen Titans (animated series), Slade is depicted as a criminal mastermind and the Teen Titan’s arch enemy.
