Dead Silence is a 2007 horror film directed by James Wan.

Synopsis

In the town of Raven's Fair, a ventriloquist, Mary Shaw, went mad in the 1940s. She was accused of the murder of a young heckler who claimed she was a fraud. In revenge for the death of the boy, the towns people hunted her down, cut out her tongue and killed her. Mary was buried with her handmade doll collection. The townsfolk went on with their lives but the town has since been plagued with mysterious deaths. Some believe Mary's dolls have returned from the grave to seek their revenge.

Newlyweds, Jaime and Lisa move to a new home far from Raven's Fair and believe they have escaped the horror. When Lisa is murdered however, Jaime returns home for her funeral and is determined to figure out the mystery of her death. Jaime begins uncovering the secrets of the town's past and the truth behind the curse that seeing Mary Shaw and screaming will cost you your tongue and your life.
