Dawnstar is a fictional superhero comic book superhero character owned by DC Comics. She is associated with the Legion of Super-Heroes, first appearing during their resurgence in the Bronze Age of Comics.
A thousand years from now, Dawnstar will be part of a Native American colony that fled the earth centuries ago, and settled on the planet Starhaven. There, the people evolved incredible tracking abilities, and wings to fly. Dawnstar is a mutant, born with tracking abilities far beyond the average Starhaven citizen. She can track specific objects or people across space, even through hyperspace. Her abilities led her to become a tracker and bounty hunter. When she was noticed by RJ Brande, the Legion sponsor, he recruited her for the Legion of Super-Heroes.
Dawnstar attended the Legion academy where she received combat training. There she became close to one of her instructors, Legionnaire Wildfire. Due to the fact that Wildfire has no real body, their relationship was limited to friendship, much to Wildfire's frustration.
Her powers are psionic in nature, combining tracker and probability calculating talents.
