Dawn of the Dead is a horror film from writer and director George A. Romero. The film is the second in Romero's "Dead" series, preceded by the classic Night of the Living Dead. Made on a budget of only $500,000 the film has since grossed over $55 million worldwide. The film was remade in 2004, directed by Zack Snyder. PremiseFollowing a zombie apocalypse, a group of survivors herd together in an abandoned Philadelphia shopping mall. They arm themselves and prepare to defend their territory against the zombie horde. Their efficient plans come to naught when a group of bikers break into the mall allowing hundreds of zombies to make their way in.
