Dawn Summers is a fictional character on the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer portrayed by Michelle Trachtenberg. Dawn is the younger sister of Buffy Summers. She was not born into the family, but transformed from her natural form as mystical energy known as The Key. The Key is capable of opening all dimensions allowing them to bleed into each other creating chaos. The Czech Monks of the Order of Dagon, transformed the Key into human form and sent her to the slayer, knowing Buffy would protect her from the goddess known as Glorificus who desired the key in order to return to the hell dimension from which she was expelled for her evil ways.
