David Prowse (b. July 1, 1935) British heavyweight weightlifting champion turned actor. He first portrayed Frankenstein's Monster in the James Bond spoof Casino Royale (1967) and recreated the role for Hammer Films in The Horror of Frankenstein (1970) and Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1973). His other credits include Vampire Circus (1971),
A Clockwork Orange (1971), Jabberwocky (1977), and The People That Time Forgot (1977). Prowse also played the body (but not the voice) of Darth Vader in the first three Star Wars films.
