David Leo Fincher (b. August 28, 1962 in Denver, Colorado) is an American director raised in Marin County, California. Fincher may be best known for having directed Alien³ and the crime thriller Se7en. Fincher first worked for John Korty at Korty Films in Mill Valley. He later worked with Industrial Light and Magic in matte photography and miniature optical effects before leaving to direct commercials and music videos. He worked with corporations like Nike, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Heinekin, and Chanel and artists such as Madonna, Sting, Michael Jackson, Billy Idol and Iggy Pop.
Fincher made his feature film directorial debut with Alien3. His other notable films include The Game, Fight Club, Panic Room, Zodiac, and the upcoming films Rendezvous with Rama (2009) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008).
