David Boreanaz was born David Patrick Boreanaz in Buffalo, New York, (May 16, 1971–). Boreanaz started out as a model but grabbed television audiences with his portrayal of the brooding Angel, a vampire with a soul, on the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 1997 to 1999. Although Angel's romance with Buffy crashed on the rocks of Fate, unlife went on for Angel—in his own spin-off series, titled, appropriately enough, Angel (1999–2004). Boreanaz also directed an episode of the series, "Soul Purpose."

Boreanaz's other genre credits include the thriller Valentine (2001) and a turn as a vampire's victim in Macabre Pair of Shorts (1996). He also appeared in The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005}, and as Special Agent Seeley Booth in a crime/mystery TV series called Bones.
