David Bischoff

David Bischoff (b. 1951) was born in Washington, DC, and presently resides in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Television, Radio and Film, and worked for NBC-TV for five years before becoming a prolific fiction writer. Working in various genres, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, and mysteries, his numerous novels include a young adult version of Phantom of the Opera, Nightworld, Vampires of Nightworld, the trilogy Day of the Dragonstar, Night of the Dragonstar and Dragonstar Destiny (all with Thomas F. Monteleone), Bill the Galactic Hero #3 and Bill the Galactic Hero #5, Philip K. Dick High, J. R. R. Tolkien University, The H.P. Lovecraft Institute and The Tawdry Yellow Brick Road.

Bischoff is also the author of a number of film, television, and gaming novelizations, such as WarGames, The Manhattan Project, The Blob, Gremlins II: The New Batch, Star Trek The Next Generation: Grounded, Aliens: Genocide, Aliens vs. Predators: Hunters’ World, SeaQuest: The Ancient, Space Precinct: The Deity Father, Space Precinct: Demon Wing and Space Precinct: Alien Island, The Crow: Quoth the Crow and Farscape: Ship of Ghosts.

As Brad Quenton, he has written six books in The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest series, aimed at younger readers. The author of more than seventy short stories, in magazines such as Omni, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Amazing, Analog, Fantastic and Pulphouse, his collection Tripping the Dark Fantastic appeared in 2002. Bischoff’s television credits include scripts for Star Trek: The Next Generation (Tin Man and First Contact) and episodes of the animated shows Centurions, Dinosaucers and Disney's Darkwing Duck. He has also worked in comics, computer games, and magazine publishing.
