Darkfever is a 2006 paranormal romance novel by Karen Marie Moning. The novel is the first in her Fever series and is followed by Bloodfever and Faefever. All three novels center on the Tuatha dé Danaan the race commonly known as fairies. Though the novels concern the same powerful race of beings who appear in her Highlander series it goes into far more detail about the Tuatha de and their Seelie counterparts, the Unseelie. The story is told in the first person by MacKayla Lane and documents her transformation from carefree southern girl into a heroic sidhe-seer who must do her part to save the world.
