Dark Horse Comics

Dark Horse Comics is an independent comic and manga publisher, the largest after Marvel and DC. The company was founded by Mike Richardson, a comic book store owner, in 1986 in Portland, Oregon. Its first series was known simply as Dark Horse Presents. The company is now based in Milwaukie, Oregon.

Dark Horse may be most familiar to Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans, having published comics based on that series. Other notable comics include Aliens, Star Wars and Who Wants to be a Superhero?. Dark Horse has also published comics owned by their creators such as Frank Miller's Sin City and 300, Katsushio otomo's Akira' and Mike Mignola's Hellboy.
