Dark City is a 1998 Sci Fi thriller directed by Alex Proyas and written by Proyas, Lem Dobbs and David S. Goyer. The film was well rated among critics but was not a box office hit. Dark City opened in theaters on February 27, 1998.

Plot

John Murdoch awakens in a dingy hotel room with no knowledge of his past and discovers he is wanted for several murders. He is soon pursued by several people including the police, a woman claiming to be his wife, and a group of mysterious strangers able to manipulate the fabric of the city around them at will.

Richard O'Brien's performance as Mr. Hand was particularly noted.
