Danny Kaye

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Danny Kaye (January 18, 1913 in Brooklyn, New YorkMarch 3, 1987 ) was an American actor.

Red-haired, rubber-faced, known for snappy patter and dialects, Danny Kaye (born David Daniel Kaminski) was a comic star of the musical era.

He portrayed one of the great fantasy authors in Hans Christian Anderson. He played a bookworm possessed by his cool night-club entertainer twin in Wonder Man. In 1976 he played both Gepetto (opposite Sandy Duncan) and Captain Hook (opposite Mia Farrow) on television.

In the Court Jester, Kaye had one of his classic dialogue bits. True fans know that:

 The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon;
 the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.

Danny Kaye also did extensive charity work for UNICEF.
