Daniel Dae Kim

Daniel Dae Kim (b. August 4, 1968) is a Korean-American actor born in Busan, South Korea. He is well known in the role of Jin-Soo Kwon on the series Lost but has appeared in a number of genre features. Kim, grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania and attended Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He gradated from Haverford College with majors in political science and theater. He completed his theater education at Bryn Mawr College.

Early appearances include the feature films American Shaolin, Addicted to Love and The Jackal. Early TV appearances include roles on the series Pacific Palisades, Law & Order, Night Man and Beverly Hills 90210. He has also guest starred on Ally McBeal, Seinfeld and Part of Five which starred Lost co-star Matthew Fox. He has had recurring roles in ER and 24 and appeared in the Oscar winning film, Crash

Genre appearances include the TV Movies Brave New World, and Momentum, roles on the series The Pretender, Fantasy Island, Star Trek: Voyager, and Charmed. He also starred in the short-lived series Crusade and had recurring roles on Angel and Star Trek: Enterprise. Genre film roles include Hulk, Spider-Man 2, and The Cave . He has also lent his voice to the character of Metron on Justice League.

Despite the fact that his character speaks almost exclusively in Korean on Lost, Kim is not a fluent speaker. His co-star, Yoon-jin Kim has been a significant aid in mastering his Korean lines.
