Dania Ramírez (b. November 30, 1980, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a film and television actress. Ramírez' has been interested in performing since childhood. She was discovered by a modeling scout while working in New York City. She later studied at the Actor's Workshop in New York City and earned her degree at Montclair State University in New Jersey. With her education completed, Ramírez moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.
Her first notable role was as potential vampire slayer, Caridad in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She moved on to more notable roles in the Spike Lee comedy She Hate Me, Fat Albert, The Fifth Commandment and a role as Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand. Ramírez may be best remembered for her role on the popular award-winning HBO series The Sopranos as Blanca Selgado. In 2007, she appeared on the hit NBC series Heroes as Maya.
