A Curse is the expression of ill will with the intention of bestowing misfortune and adversity upon a person, persons or objects. A curse may be a spell or a prayer to a god, demon or other powerful force imposed with the intention of creating negative outcomes.

Throughout history, men have attributed their misfortunes to curses, made by jealous opposition, mischievous or evil spirits or punishment from the gods for their failings. Curses take on various forms according to the culture of the individuals who invoke them. Some may be familiar with Egyptian curses, brought on by the disturbing of mummified corpses and their tombs. The curses were the inspiration for many classic horror stories and films.
