Cure is episode 10 of Stargate SG-1 Season 6.
Summary
On a visit to the planet Pangar, Earth is offered a miraculous drug that can cure all illness. But the drug is not without a high price for its users.
Plot
SG-1 visits Pangar to open negotiations with the Pangarans. The Pangarans discovered their Stargate in recent years but as yet have been unable to make a connection. Earth offers the addresses of 10 peaceful worlds and the promise to tell them how the gate works. In return, the Pangaran leader, Dollen, offers tretonin a drug that allows them to live free of disease.
While SGC scientists study a sample, Teal'c and Jonas visit an archaeological dig in the area where the Stargate was discovered. It is an ancient Goa'uld temple. Jonas is surprised when archaeologist Zenna Valk warns him about tretonin. She later denies the interaction suggesting her privilege of taking the drug can be revoked.
Determined to discover more, Teal'c and Jonas access a map of the city and visit the location where tretonin is processed. In the building they discover large pools of Goa'uld symbiotes. An encounter with the security guards causes Jonas and one of the guards to fall into the pool. Jonas is pulled out without harm by Teal'c but the guard is comatose.
O'Neill confronts Dollen about their use of the symbiotes to create Tretonin and asks where they got so many symbiotes. Dollen shows them a tank containing a Goa'uld Queen. She was discovered alive in sealed container fifty years ago.
SG-1 calls on the Tok'ra for help and scientists Malek and Kelmaa arrive, very interested in the drug's potential. They have no problem sacrificing the symbiotes as the Goa'uld have done far worse to mankind.
Teal'c and Jonas continue working at the dig site and discover that the excavation is of a tomb for Egeria, a traitor to the Goa'uld. She was sentenced to eternal suffering by Ra. They realize the Queen being used by the Pangarans is actually the mother of the Tok'ra.
Though the Tok'ra demand Egeria's release the Pangarans regret their actions but cannot. Those who have taken the drug cannot stop doing so as their immune systems cannot recover and the quickly die. The Tok'ra attempt to solve the problem but have no success. Kelmaa takes matters into her own hands and gives up her host so Egeria can be implanted.
Despite Kelmaa's sacrifice, Egeria is nearing death. The Pangarans apologize to her and she, in turn, apologizes for her part. She created blank symbiotes with a genetic flaw which caused the problem with the tretonin making them dependent on the drug. Before her death she passes on the necessary information to compensate for the damage caused by the drug. Without her, however, the Pangarans can make no more tretonin.
Egeria is carried through the stargate by the Tok'ra for a funeral.
