Cryptozoology

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

(Redirected from Cryptozoological)

Cryptozoology is the study of "hidden animals." In its strictest definition, it deals with reports from indigenous people of animals unrecognized by science, and the investigation of those reports. The term is also used more loosely to include out-of-place animals (lions and kangaroos in the United States, for example); apparently supernatural animals (the United Kingdom's black dogs with glowing eyes, which can disappear in front of witnesses); and unexplained animal behaviors (such as "homing animals" that can find their families in a place that the animals have never visited).

Cryptozoologists may follow the scientific method and have a degree (perhaps in zoology), although the term has also been used to include anyone who looks into "monster" reports, regardless of technique.
